Can’t believe I haven’t posted a blog about my Boyfriend Sweater yet!! Well, actually, I can. Speaking of boyfriends, you know how there are some girls who once they start dating somebody, they abandon all of their friends? Luckily, I’ve never been like that (though I do think it’s inevitable that you can’t see your friends as often as you did before you got serious with somebody). But, I have managed to completely abandon this blog. You can tell exactly when I started dating Nick by how infrequent my posts became. No more though! I have a new goal of posting at least once a week.
Back to my new cardigan, I freaking LOVE IT. You saw it blocking ages ago. As soon as it was dry, I wore it three days straight. I didn’t even bother sewing on buttons! I dug around in my jewelry box and found a really pretty snowflake pin and used that to pin it shut. No idea where I got the pin…but it was perfect for a winter outfit and the light blue stones really worked with the green of the sweater.
On day two of wearing my sweater, I made Nick take pictures of me. After I’d been standing there, posing for what felt like forever, I asked him how many he’d taken since I’d told him to just take a bunch and I’d pick the best one. He’d taken two. TWO. He’d set the camera settings to take a bunch of pictures at once and automatically choose the best one. I promptly yelled at him for being so slow for no reason (I’m clearly so gracious when people are doing me a favor but in my defense we were running late to Sunday dinner). He then proceeded to take ten pictures and didn’t stop even when I grabbed for my phone. Here are the good pictures.
Here’s where I told him I hope it shows how annoyed I am (after he told me he was doing the best shot function):
And then he just wouldn’t stop. There are 7 more pictures of varying degrees of cute but here are the ones that make me laugh:
You can see I’m trying to get him to stop.
Back to the sweater. I completely, 100%, recommend this pattern. It was so easy and it’s soooo flattering! Someday, eventually, I’ll sew on the buttons, but in the meantime I’m rocking the hell out of my snowflake pin.
I didn’t make any modifications really. I used different yarn that messed with my gauge so I knit a size large, hoping for a size medium and I think I was pretty successful! Messed with the arms a couple times since the gauge that worked so well with the cardigan body did NOT work with the sleeves (they ended up being waaay too tight). So I frogged to the elbow and eyeballed where I needed to stop decreasing to match the look of how the sweater is meant to end up.
It was way too fun wearing this to work and having people ask me where I got it. I might have acted a little too proud of myself but it’s hard not to grin when you love something you’re wearing and people agree!
AND I’m famous! I tweeted a picture of myself wearing the cardigan and Stefanie Japel retweeted me!! Totally made my day

Love it! Love the pics! I want one!
